what is everyone doing when their bars are higher than the frame when fully laid. all I can think of to fix the problem is either 1 run blocks on the bar, but that is gonna create axle wrap, or 2 put some kind of step in the bar.

depends on if your pinion angle is off or not, but yea most run 2inch angle blocks on them... ekstenive kit comes with a built block on the link bar..

hmm im not reallt sure if 2 or even 3in blocks would be enough on this truck. fully laid the bar is about 2 inches above the frame. I've kinda thrown around the idea of a cantiever set up or something to put the bags up in the bed tho. I didn't have this problem on my silverado and it is set up to lay 30in tires

yeah it is notched. 4ft of 2x4 per notch. the bars are 38in long. it is on a 96 dodge ram. with the axle bottomed on the notch it measures around 17in or so from ground to center of axle

yeah most vehicles I've seen two links on have about a 4 inch block on it. some people will take a 2X4 piece about six inches long and just weld it to the bar. with a two link, riding REALLY low isn't that safest thing in the world. with a two link, you're limited to how much lift you should run through your system. if you want a lot of useable lift, you should look at another link set up.

yes you do get axle warp out of it, that's why you set your pinion at your ride height. in doing that though, you might actually have to swing around your mounting plate that used to set on your leaf springs.

but as long as you're ok, lifting it to your ride height, and lowering it back down, you'll be golden.

hey I got no problems with two links, just making sure you know. I don't know you that well, so just trying to help make sure you got the right system for you. I've got a two link on the jimmy myself and it works great for me. but I'm not your average mini trucker. I take it pretty easy on the switches.

can u explain how they aren't safe rideing low? im trying to build this thing to be decently reliable because my wife will prolly drive it a lot. really want to elminate as many weak links in the truck as I can.

i think the cantiever set up would be the best way to go. it would keep you from putting blocks in and having alot of axle roll. but you know me im a big fat idiot sooooooooooo booyashaka

Its all a matter of where you set your pinion angle if you set it true at a low ride height then you can ride low and why the hell do you need tons of lift I don't understand why people need so much lift you like low why ride like a donk and I don't see how you get axle wrap with a rearend that is fixed in its mounting location the only rotation in you're axle is during travel in its range of motion not under acceleration two links work great for a basic ride they are limited in there traction capabilities and articulation but they work I have had and done plenty of them just weld some blocks on don't use those cast aluminum blocks they will break on a two link

yeah that was really my main concern with having a big block was the extra leverage on the blocks and haveing extremly long u bolts. not really worried about amount of lift. if it gets anywhere near as much lift as my other truck it will be way more than enough. I realize the pinion angle changes throughout the whole suspension travel but I don't see why this matters for street use too much as long as the ujoint isn't anywhere near bottoming out. I've had to grind yokes on lifted trucks just to keep the ujoints from bottoming out.

yeah im going to get dragginass to post pics this weekend. I can't post pics from my phone for some odd reason. I have about 4 more feet of 2x4 I can use I guess. was going to use it for the tranny crossmember but 2x2 will prolly work for that. my next question is what do u think about the bags being offest on the bars some. I don't see why it would cause wearing like on a 2 bushing setup.
