So I got rid of my ranger and get a 01 S10.
The day after I got it I was driving and could hear whinning and grinding sounds I think are coming from the clutch. Also you can feel how rough it is if you put your hand on the shifter.Cruising at 65-70mph in 5th the noises&roughness are strong.Sittin at a idle in neutral its cool but as soon as I push in on the clutch it starts making a noise until I let off.On timberland yesterday I knew something was bout to go down, all a sudden it made a loud noise and no pressure in the clutch at all.Minute later got back pressure so I drove it over to my brothers house and parked it.Went out to it later and a puddle of oil on the concrete, not tranny fluid.I eventually drove it home to Alto at about 55-60mph in 4th with no probs. Its parked now,but still drivable.I think the clutch is fucked up,but the guy I got it from said he put a new one in.Maybe he didnt put it in right iono, hope it aint the tranny.....Any ideas?

I had a similar problem in my 96 1500. it was when i was in missouri, and i was coming home from the racetrack, and on the interstate i smelled burning rubber inside the cab. I thought nothing of it, until some smoke started getting in the cab. then the smell got worse, and i could see sparks in my rear view. i pulled over and luckily there was a sheriff deputy that just pulled someone over, towed it back to post, and took it to the shop the next day. this was a while ago, im pretty sure the guy said it was the throwout bearing, he said i "hot rodded" it to much....... which i did hahaha. it was a shit truck anyway, some chick had it before me and fucked it up and it was reposessed so i got it cheap :D. You should remember the truck Justin, it was the old green one i had back in high school.

anyway, i doubt that will help with anything, but i thought i would share it since it was kinda similar.

I got it from some guy up in Waco,we met friday night in Centerville to swap trucks cause thats like a halfway point from me to him.He brung the dime down on a trailor because he said he wanted to load my truck up cause of the alignment and whatnot so I said cool u know. Now that I think about it maybe thats why he did trailor it because he knew something was wrong.Iono lol

Here it is.Nothing to it but a 2" drop in back now,Kenwood&Clarion audio components and a flowmaster. The body and paints great. So I guess it'll be a good daily/project truck.
