Anyone know of a good and reputible shop around Tyler? I'm getting geared up to do a 350 swap in my truck, but it needs to be gone through and checked first. I'm really just contemplating rebuilding my 305. Figuring what will interchange and work between a 92 engine and 85 engine is a PITA, along with the computer upgrades I would have to do.

the only thing you should have to replace on the swap is the intake manifold, i think. give mayhem dave a call, 903-504-7448.

and as far as machine shops, theres higginbotham, rays, or tidmores.

Yeah, after some research, I've found the intake is different. I am going to use the intake already on the 350 and buy a TBI adapter. I will also need 350 injectors, knock sensor, and 350 PROM chip for the ECU. I'm swapping out the V-Belt system and just using my serpentine with all my accesories. According to a lot of folks and different forums, it is "supposed" to be a pretty straight forward swap. It's a GM crate egine with ~ 35k miles my dad is giving me, so I figured I HAVE to use it lol. Also, he said I could have the rebuilt 700r4, but I would have to use a floor shifter, and I need to check to see if it would be in the same place as my 5 spd. shifter is now. This all won't be happening for a month or so. I've got a ski trip, and have to get it layed out again on the new 22's, order compressors, finish the bed. (gotta love tax time lol). I forgot Dave did engine stuff, I will give him a call.

Coy's. I am ordering them at the end of the week. Last time I talked to them they said ship time was about a week. I would order them sooner, but I will be out of town with nowhere to ship to.

Thats a decent deal, I really like the Coy's. Guess I'm gonna have to look at some different wheels now lol.
