has anybody done this? we own a auto repair business that 9 miles from where i live now.. and what I'm wanting to do is build a new shop with work area and my house in it also

here is a couple different views of a shop Ive been 3d modeling.. shop is 100x50x20
big doors are 16x16 all doors are 4x7 all windows are 6x3 and one door is 6x7

i haven't figured out how to put windows on the 2nd story yet but the front 25x50 of the shop will be a 2 story house with 3bed room 2 bath up top and the bottom floor will be kitchen, living room, den, office, and .5 bath

the other 75x50 will be the shop and a small office

looking to see if anybody has done this yet before ive seen some but i wanna get more pice.. so far the building like it is with all the doors(no roll ups) is like 50k thats with 6" insulation on the roof and 4" on the walls along with 24ga steel and the walls having a 8 foot liner panel

looking to get foundation recommendations along with interior assembly people..

thanks bruge

yes jason henderson's shop used to be that way, he had a 2br 2bath apartment on the side of his 40x40 shop, and Matt peace had a loft above his shop..
ive got plans to build a 40x80x18 on my pasture and build my house on the side of it, just waiting to get back to work and off unemployment..

damn price jumps alot for a extra 20ft long and 10ft wide, the shop with concrete them coming put it on my land was around $22k that i had found, where you talking bout price of all the wood and sheetrock to do your house and plumbing and everything included in that $50k?

I BUILT A 24X30 SHOP MYSELF COMPLETE WIRING AND INSULATED WITH A MAN DOOR AND A 16X8FT DOOR AND IT CAME IN RIGHT ABOUT 8500.00. THATS ME PORING SLAB MYSELF AND BUYING A MUELLER BUILDING KIT THAT WAS ON SALE. IF U CAN DO ALL THAT FOR 50K THATS A HELL OF A DEAL. I WANT TO DO THAT ALSO IN THE FUTURE JUST NEED TO DO ALOT OF HOMEWORK AND ALSO SELL MY HOUSE BEFORE I START, TO USE EQUITY TO BUILD WITH. VERY EASY TO DO HAD THE RED IRON FRAME UP IN ABOUT THREE HOURS. HARDEST PART WAS SETTING TEMPLATES FOR CONCRETE ANCHORS. HERE IS A LINK TO THE KIT I USED. WHO'S PRODUCT OR KIT R U LOOKING AT.

I'm still pricing places and this place is out of denton.. Gary on dfwminis sent me a link to another place I called meuller last friday and he hasn't got back to me yet. This is also 24ga metal not 26 ga that 13 windows 4 4070m doors and a 6070 door also 6"insulation on the roof and 4" on the walls with a 8 foot liner

The insulation should help keep the upstairs cool as far as that goes

As far as doin my own slab.. I rather paysomebody because 5000square feet is a lot of concrete to pour and I want it super smooth also wanting a 5" slab

Post up places to buy buildings stuff from lights doors and all that

tHE PART THAT WAS EXPENSIVE ON CONCRETE IS THE FOOTER WHICH IS DUG ALL THE WAY AROND BUILDING REASON BEING THAT WHAT SUPPORTS THE WEIGHT MINE WERE 18 INCHES DEEP SO THAT ADDS ALOT OF CONCRETE TO THE PROJECT. WITHOUT ANY FOOTERS UR LOOKING AT PROLLY 80 YARDS OF CONCRETE WHICH WAS 114.00 A YARD WHEN I BUILT MINE. SO JUST CONCRETE COST NO LABOR WOULD BE ROUGHLY 10,000 FOR A 100X50 POURED 5 INCHES THICK. wITH THE FOOTERS AND 5 INCHES THICH ON MINE I USED 14 YARDS ON A 24X30. THE REASON FOR FOOTERS IS THE ANCHOR BOLTS THAT GO THREW BEAM THAT MOUNTS BEAM TO CONCRETE ARE 16 INCHES LONG. nUT WAS TWO INCHES TALL 1 INCH THREAD STICKING OUT AND 13 INCHES IN CONCRETE FOOTER. tHE ONLY WAY TO GET AWAY FROM THAT IS TO BUILD POLE BARN TYPE WHICH IS BURIED IN CONCRETE IN GROUND AND SLAB ONLY SUPPORTS WEIGHT OF WHATS IN BUILDING NOT STRUCTURE. tHATS WHY STEEL BUILDING HAS FOOTERS THATS WHAT SUPPORTS ALL THE WEIGHT THERES ONLY SIX SPOTS IN MINE SO IMAGINE ALL THAT WEIGHT IF IT WAS ONLY 5 INCHES THICK BEING COMPLETELY STEEL ????

i was looking at a 40x80 kit ive seen several of them on sites, the place i had planed on was out of arlington i think it was $22k concrete and metal everything on the ground, that wasnt to do all the walls in the house and everything but that was just the building, lights doors windows.. but i was looking at doing my house side bout 20x40 maybe 25x40 enough for 2 story and still have a 50x40 shop, plenty enough room for my 6 cars to fit in and then some haha lol..

Just saw your post on Highlifter... never knew that (Vamped 380) was you lol. I love the idea, and was considering doing this one day, but I more than likely will build house and shop seperate on my land because I (well, more my wife haha) want to build a brick/stone house... BTW, what software did you use to draw the renderings?

Have you tried Tyler Building Systems? I'm not real sure about their pricing, but a friend of mine used to work there. There is also a place in Terrel, but I can't think of the name of it right now...
