I've got a nice whirring noise from 35mph to 60mph or so under acceleration only. Diff fluid level is fine but looks pretty dark, have a very small intermittent leak - I haven't drained it yet. Figured I'd take it to someone who can do a rear end right.. It just be a bearing? It looks pretty original so I'm guessing it needs a rebuild. Two people have told me Longview Driveshaft and 4x4. Any ideas?

It could be the pinion angle causing noise.. If it's 2 linked, it's almost guaranteed to happen at certain ride heights. Both my trucks do it too. The diff seal could be the culprit for the leak. Mine needs to be replaced as well.

happens at any ride height...doesn't seem like there is much strain on it just looking at it...maybe it's just worn out?

here's some pics, don't know if you can tell much from them

regular ride height (slightly lowered)

thanks Cody, I'd like to drop a bigger crate engine and do a new paint job eventually...don't have a shop so I'd have to get someone to do it, know some good places that do decent work for fair prices?
