ok so I'm probably walking in someones shadow at night here anyway, but I was wondering, do you guys think it would be possible to fit a cantilever set up, and I mean the kind with the "L" bracket, underneath a blazer? I'm still kickin around ideas trying to get a better ride out of the Jimsum, and I was just thinkin maybe it's just something that noone has tried. I know those ideas are few and far between, but I thought I'd ask anyway!

Body drop it on some 20,22s! It'll ride better!

you could always do a cantilever set up and you would get more lift out of it and a smoother ride...are your bags over the axle right now? It would probably require you cutting out your rear floor however and building a set up with linkages and pushrods. If you want I can draw something out. Let me know if your interested...ohh and I have some 20s and 22s that would look killer on that...haha all you have to do is swap rearends and change rotors in the front!

Damn Matt do I LOOK like I'm made out of money!? haha

see the thing is, I DO NOT want to loose any floor in the back, cause the back seat is barely holding on as is! and I DEFINATELY don't want to lose the back seat! what's the point of having a 4 door if you don't have a back seat? so I'm pretty much trying to fit everything under the stock floor.

this is my delima!

Can you not do a reverse setup and re-do the cargo area?

You dont want to run a reverse set on on a blazer. the frame is way to high for that. Cando has a good little set up you could make work.

haha i was just sayin..lol. Let me think about it this weekend...maybe i can get a shot of the underside of a blazer off of theinternet then it would be easier for me to go by. Im sure there is a way tho but are you talking about running a true cantilever setup with pushrods and heims on all of the pushrods, or a "cantilever" set up like what ekstensive runs?

well that was a nice ride done memory Lane anyway here's the only photo i could find of it i am sure i have more somewhere but here you go....

Image

the 2doors and 4doors have the same room as as fare as suspension and frame goes back there, but this was my 2door with no Backseat everyone i knew with a 4door at the time was lucky because the 4door was just a little bit longer and had more of a distance they could run there bag at but never the less its a Tight squeeze still but you can defiantly do it..

yeah I guess that would work.
I
and matt I was talking about doing a true cantilever, not just a bag over bar cantilever. but it's mostly just cause I want to do a canitlever, cause I like em! I may just have to do the bag over bar like in Big ryan's old one. but I'd really like to do it different.

hey Ryan how big of a wheel would that lay out?

oh hell i was thought u was talking bout just a 2link bar like that, but we had a 22inch wheel and tire bolted on it before still had about a 3 finger clearance on the axle the fenders where tubed enough for them so it held it up, mind you this was like 2002 when we put them on there just to mach up and see and tires back then wasn't near as low pro as now on a 22 lol....

But most cantilever setups are setup on the over the axles so to a 3.1 ration to the rearend they normally set them up like it would be riding on the axle so it would ride exactly the same! lol.. and your going to change the setup you want to make it ride better...
