ok this is going to take me a day or so to do this. iight what i did first was get all my things i needed. here is a list.
1. 3M General Trim Adhesive
2. 1 Yard of Fabric. I chose the white and black cheata print.
3. 3M 180 Grit Sand Paper
4. Razor Blades
5. 1/4" Foam Pad
6. Black and Decker Wizerd.
7. Philips Head Screw Driver
8. Plastic Welder Glue. it took me 4 packs one for each door.
9. C-CLAMPS. will need a few!
10. White Grease Pencil
OK.
The first step was to unscrew the Door handle casings. and then to unscrew the Arm rest off the door.
NOTE: Besure to keep all the screws.
on the front doors there is a tweater. gentaly pop it off the door panels.
Second step is now to GRAND all the plastic spot welds on the back for u can pop out the inserts.
NOTE: that when u are done. go around and clean up the plastic burs off. for you can push the peaces back togther easly.
note: i am pointing at the plastic spot welds
Third step. Now is to take ur razor blade and cut a few slits down the old fabric that u are removing. This is kinda defcult. took me awhile to do on all 4 panels.
NOTE: you may take a pair of plyers and use them to help you wrip off the old fabric.
Fourth step. Now take the 180 Grit Sand Paper and sand each surface. To give the 3M adhesive a better sticking.
Fith step. I drew out a few flame paterns and picked the one i like the most. then i took my razor blade and cut the pattern out. Then i put the pattern on my 1/4" foam pad and took a white grease pincle and drew around my pattern. Now i took a razor blade with a 45 degree angle and cut my pattern out on the 1/4 foam pad.
NOTE: the reason why i cut it at a 45 Degree is for it to give it more of a 3D look.
Sixth step. I sprayed the 3M Adhesive on the back of my flame pattern and then on the panel. Let each get tacky befor stickin the flame pattern on the door panel.
NOTE: do each door one at a time.
Seventh step. now take your fabric. measure your area where u have to spread ur fabric. and allow ur self a few more inchs. then cut your fabric. allright now spray the 3M Adhesice on the back of the fabric and allso on the panel. Let it get tacky then aplly the fabric. u will allso need to strech it out. it might take a few times to get right.
NOTE: allso do one door at a time. take ur time and strech the fabric out right. and make sure to get the fabric in the groves of ur pattern.
Eight step. Now that u got all that over with. Take one of the door panels and put the insert back on it. take the C-clamps and tighten it. then mix up the plastic welder and put on each plastic spot weld and let the glue sit for an hour to harden. do this to all the doors.
NOTE: may want to use a cloth inbetween the C-Clamp and ur door. for it will not put in scratchs. i found out the hard way.
Nineth step. Allmost done. ok now u can replace all the door panels and screw the screws in.
NOTE: dont forget about putting the tweater back in its spot allso like i forgot HAHA.
and this one is here i did in a black leather.
Well guys and gals thats a write up on how I did my door panels. I will have Pic. up ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
