So I put a new transmission & Clutch in my S10 this weekend, and the transmission I put in was outta a 96 S10 but mines a 01.The 01 speedometer harness that plugs into the side of the tranny does not match the plugin on the 96 tranny. So can I go to the junkyard or whatever and get a 96 harness and splice it into the wires on my truck?

Also with that not bein plugged in,do you think it would effect my cruise control cause it isnt working now,and also the abs & e-brake light wont go off and I didnt mess with any of that shit and it has never been on before.I figured it may have something to do with it cause of the electronics and shit. What do yall think?

The tranny was free and everything runs good it just the harness I gotta problem with.

I'm not an expert but I'm not sure just splicing the other plug onto your harness would work.
Try going by a local shop and letting them plug it up to a computer and see what the abs and e-brake thing is about.

well since noone more knowledgable is helping you out on the topic, I'll thrown in my two cents I guess.

like McLovin, I VERY seriously doubt you'll be able to just splice it in. there will probably be a different number of wires, as well as many different resistances in them. so I doubt that would do you any good. if they did have the same number of wires, and they did the same job, I seriously doubt they would have just changed the configuration of the clip for nothin.

as far as the E-brake and cruise, I'm about 98% sure that the tranny not being plugged up is what's causing them to throw codes. get your tranny problem fixed and you'll fix that as well. all of those components talk to one another now a days, so if ones acting up it will cause your other stuff to as well.
