this sucks bad...i feel really sorry for them......

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - A local business may now be forced to close its doors permanently after another early morning break in.

Owners of the Sky Vue Drive-in say thieves have now targeted them twice in the past four months, each time taking thousands of dollars of goods. The first break-in, in January, prompted the family to install surveillance cameras on their property. Unfortunately, the cameras did not stop burglars from breaking in a second time, in the early morning hours of Monday, April 12th.

Owner Ronda Phillips said thieves used a tool to pry open the door locks, giving them free reign to the premises. Using trash cans and buckets, Phillips says, the intruders stole thousands of dollars worth of concessions, electronics, and cash. The family says most disturbing find was finding a container for a local charity once filled with cash, empty on the floor.

For three years, the theater located northwest of Tyler has given some East Texans a new, and others a nostalgic evening at the movies. The business is owned and operated by the Phillips family, who spend their days running a construction company and their nights showcasing cinemas under the stars. The losses from the two break-ins are estimated at $10,000, an amount Phillips says she won't be able to recoup until the end of summer.

The family is urging anyone with information to contact Smith County Authorities, who are currently investigating the case. They will continue to show double movie features every night except Thursday as soon as the sun goes down. Adult tickets are $6, children 5-12 are $4, and 4 and under get in free.

i was thinking about that...i just hadnt brought it up to jeff yet...they help make it so much easier for us when it comes to the show...they saved our butts in 2007 cuz we didnt have any food vendors, bathrooms, water nothing...we meet them the night before the show n they were willing to open and help us out the next day. i would like to try to do something in return for the help they have givin us since that year

i thought about that too, i saw it on the news and texted jeff immediatly, but i didnt bring up a fund raiser..... maybe a summer show out there? and let them keep all proceeds? see who all we could get out there form a good cause to keep turkey drag goin???

well i know jeff wants to talk to them first (which i agree) n make sure that they would want to try n keep it open or if they are just gonna give up. cuz i would hate to do this and they not really want to try anymore...so hes been tryin to call but no answer yet.

I just got off the phone with The owner of Sky Vue. They will not be closeing down. Turkey Drag will be out there again this year.

i am working on something but not really a Show, more of a come hangout and get clubs to Build there own Pick awards, but ill be having a cookout before to long to test the location and the people that own it to see how its all going to unfold..

hell yeah, ill get the mini cleaned up when you give us a date.

ill know pretty soon... the cookout will probably be sometime with in the next month or 2. and the show is or Gathering lol will probably be around the first of the year..

sweet...yeah my truck isnt show quality but i wanna drive it there to hang out...find a baby sitter so i dont have to carry 4 kids cause the mini is just a 2 seater and i dont wanna drive my ram 1500 cause it only gets about 11 or 12 mpg
