Im wiring my windsheild wipers and when I hook the white wire (ignition hot) up with either the purple, grey, or orange wire (speeds).....(black wire is the ground), all it does is click. Do I need a relay between the switch and wiper motor? Or why would it be clicking like it is. BTW, this is on a 1996 Chevy wiper motor (Ive already replaced the pulse board).

its gunna get a constant power to one wire, one will ground, and the other 2 will ground out one for high, one for low.
